“Davis Cup: for the first time, the Democratic Republic of Congo hosts the tennis competition in its fifth African division”

The Democratic Republic of Congo hosts the Davis Cup qualifiers in its fifth African division. The competitions begin on Wednesday June 21 after the draw scheduled for Tuesday June 20. For the first time in its history, the country will host this competition which will be held at the Circle of Kinshasa.

The national federation of the discipline directed by the engineer Georges Koshi Gimeya works for a quality organization at the height of the ambitions of the federal committee, which is thus preparing to show its know-how in this very large organization. Beyond the sporting challenge, the event offers a great space for African youth in a celebration of the yellow ball.

Rwanda hosted the last edition where the DRC ranked 3rd for its first participation. This year, the competition takes the form of a confrontation between twelve African nations bringing together nearly 110 athletes.

Through this initiative of the Congolese tennis federation, the DRC once again demonstrates its dynamism in the organization of major international events. This kind of initiative should contribute to the promotion not only of sport, but also of tourism in the country.

Indeed, players from different backgrounds and their entourage could take the opportunity to discover the Congolese nation… A big step forward in the visibility of the DRC on the international scene
