“CENCO: a strong speech by Monsignor Fulgence Muteba on the socio-economic situation of the DRC during the National Eucharistic Congress”

The third National Eucharistic Congress organized by CENCO has just closed its doors in Lubumbashi. During the closing mass, Monsignor Fulgence Muteba held a speech focused on current events in the DRC and the socio-economic situation of the country.

The prelate denounced a situation where a political elite is shamelessly taking advantage of the country’s natural resources, such as copper and cobalt in Katanga, diamonds in Kasai, timber from Equateur or customs revenue from the borders. Meanwhile, the Congolese population continues to suffer, without enjoying the fruits of this immense wealth.

Monsignor Fulgence Muteba underlined the conscience of his people who firmly believe in a better future and struck down anyone who would seek to divide the country by political inclinations. The Catholic Church represents the symbol of the unwavering unity of this country and of a population that does not despair.

During the closing ceremony, bishops and delegations from different countries took part in this national activity.
