The Democratic Republic of Congo is a dynamic country in full expansion, as evidenced by the visit of the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, to Haut-Katanga. Accompanied by several members of his government, he undertook a journey of more than 200 km to Kasenga to exchange with local compatriots.
The Prime Minister started his journey on the national road number 5, where he took the time to meet the inhabitants of the villages located on the way, in particular Malambwe and Minga, his native village. Warmly welcomed, Sama Lukonde paid tribute to the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, for having entrusted him with the mission of leading the government of the “Warriors”. He also expressed his determination to solve the problems of the villages through government projects.
The Prime Minister also visited a health center under construction in Kibundu, a village in the Sapwe groupement. Only six months were enough to carry out this project, which is part of the Local Development Program of the 145 territories. This initiative helps provide vital health infrastructure to those in need.
During his visit to Kasomeno, Sama Lukonde was impressed by the construction of a sustainable primary school equipped with a solar system, which replaces the old facilities made of thatch and adobe bricks. This school is the result of the Local Development Program of the 145 territories.
The Congolese government is committed to developing its infrastructure and health system to improve the quality of life of its citizens. Several articles on our blog cover these initiatives, including on the modernization of the population identification and census system, the strategic partnership with the EU for a responsible value chain of critical minerals, and the preservation of endangered species. of extinction, like the white rhinos.
However, the road to development is not without difficulties. Demonstrations took place in Tshikapa against the rising cost of water, and riots and violence broke out in Kimbau following the death of a boy in police custody. It is important to remain vigilant in the face of these incidents and to continue to work for a prosperous and peaceful Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In short, this trip of the Prime Minister to Kasenga made it possible to highlight the government projects in progress and to testify to the commitment of the DRC for the well-being of its citizens.
