The Democratic Republic of Congo has launched an ambitious development project in 145 territories, initiated by President Félix Tshisekedi. In this context, the governor of the province of Sankuru, Me Jules Lodi Emongo was received by Professor André Mbata, the first vice-president of the National Assembly. The two leaders discussed different topics including security, elections and development of Sankuru province.
During the meeting, Me Jules Lodi Emongo expressed confidence in the economic development of the province, with the support of local leaders and citizens. The Deputy Director General of the Roads Office, Célestin Ekoto Lelike, also pointed out that the hundred bridges ordered to open up the country are being deployed throughout the country.
The governor also spoke about securing the electoral process in the DRC, asking political actors to refrain from any violence that could endanger the stability of the country. He promised to fight against those who would take up arms to sow chaos.
However, the governor reserved any comment on the crisis that is shaking the Sankuru Provincial Assembly. Although there have been political and security tensions in some parts of the country, some ambassadors have presented their credentials to strengthen diplomatic relations with the DRC.
In short, the province of Sankuru is part of the vast economic development program launched by President Tshisekedi, with the ambition of becoming a model region for the DRC.
