“Governor of Sankuru and first vice-president of the National Assembly discuss security, elections and development for the province”

Jules Lodi Emongo, governor of the province of Sankuru was received by the first vice-president of the National Assembly, Professor André Mbata. The two personalities discussed several important topics for the region such as security, elections and future development projects for the province.

The Governor of Sankuru expressed confidence in the future of his province and was reassured by the support of Professor André Mbata as well as citizens of the region.

He also spoke of the importance of securing the electoral process in his province, and urged political actors to cease their violence and abandon their militias. He said he would be intractable with them if this violence continued.

Finally, the Deputy Director General of the Office of Roads stressed that the bridges ordered for the opening up of the country were already deployed.

However, the governor declined to comment on the crisis in the Sankuru Provincial Assembly.
