Road safety: a new impetus for the INPP
The National Institute for Professional Preparation (INPP) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) seems to be at the forefront of concerns when it comes to road safety in the country. Indeed, with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD), the INPP has set up a vehicle technical control center. And the beneficiaries of this infrastructure do not hide their joy, like the Provincial Directorate of the INPP Kongo Central/Boma, which received a visit from the Deputy Director General of the INPP and AFD partners. The ceremony took place in the presence of the governor of the province, Guy Bandu Ndungidi.
The purpose of this visit was to see the progress of construction work on this new technical control center. DGA Patrick Kayembe Nsumpi presented in detail the operation of this new service to all of his guests. And the governor has made no secret of his intention to be among the first customers for the technical control of his vehicles.
This visit is proof of the relevance of this INPP initiative, which will certainly help to strengthen road safety in the country. Indeed, road accidents are very frequent in the DRC, and the establishment of a vehicle technical control system should help improve the quality of the vehicle fleet in circulation.
The DGA also took the opportunity to present the project for the construction of a new administrative building for the Provincial Directorate of the INPP Kongo Central/Boma. This project will improve the working conditions of INPP staff, and thus better support the students of this institute in their professional training.
In short, this visit was a great opportunity for INPP partners and local authorities to see the relevance of this institute’s initiatives in terms of vocational training and road safety. And the upcoming inauguration of this new technical control center is to be awaited impatiently.
