In search of interesting and varied news, it is time to look at the latest events that marked the year 2023. Among these, the attacks by Ugandan fighters of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in the chiefdom of Walese- Vonkutu. The horror of these terrorist actions led to the death of fifteen innocent civilians, whose bodies still remain abandoned in the forests of Samboko Makutanio and Mutuweyi Aodi.
Faced with these tragedies, it is essential to emphasize the importance of reacting quickly and implementing large-scale military operations to protect the population. Unfortunately, the precarious security situation in this region has raised questions about the delay in the deployment of the armed forces to counter these recurrent attacks.
Christophe Munyanderu, a human rights activist based in Irumu territory, spoke about this worrying situation. He wonders why the army has not yet launched military operations worthy of the name to stem this spiral of violence and insecurity in the territories of Beni, Irumu and Mambasa. He thus calls on the FARDC soldiers to accompany the young volunteers to bury the bodies of the victims with dignity, thus symbolizing a duty of respect and compassion towards their fellow citizens.
Despite the presence of elements of the FARDC-UPDF coalition in the region, engaged in operations called “Ushujaa”, insecurity persists and imposes its law. It is therefore essential to understand the stakes of this situation in order to better deal with it.
In conclusion, in the face of attacks by Ugandan fighters in the Walese-Vonkutu chiefdom and the persistent insecurity, it is necessary to take adequate measures to guarantee the safety of civilians. The implementation of large-scale military operations as well as the accompaniment of volunteers in the dignity of funerals show the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of these ordeals. Let’s hope that quick and effective solutions will be put in place to put an end to this spiral of violence and bring peace to the region
