DRC news: President Tshisekedi insists on budgeting public investments with a view to multi-year planning

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi, asked during the last Council of Ministers, an improvement in the budgeting of public investments. According to the President, this budgeting must be part of a multi-year plan and must in particular promote alignment between the various investment projects of the central government and the provinces of the country.

The Head of State also insisted on the importance of setting up public investment projects in key sectors such as energy and infrastructure in order to promote geographical integration. In addition, this approach will make it possible to respond to population growth and the increased energy needs of Congolese industries.

To this end, the Ministers of Public Works and Infrastructure and of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity will work in collaboration with the Provincial Executives in order to harmonize the projects that can be implemented in the short and medium terms. This approach will make it possible to reduce the gap that has widened over the years in the various economic sectors of the country.

President Tshisekedi continues to place public investment at the heart of his economic and social development policy, despite the many security difficulties facing the country.
