“Augustin Kabuya, SG of Udps/Tshisekedi, on a political mission to Paris and Brussels to strengthen the party’s international relations”

In May 2023, Augustin Kabuya, Secretary General of Udps/Tshisekedi in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Vice-President of the Socialist International, accompanied by a delegation, visited the Paris-Brussels axis. Warmly welcomed by activists and executives of his party, he had an intense political activity.

The SG met with several delegations, including those from Great Britain, Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany. He gave advice to the members of these delegations on the conduct of the policy and discussed with them the situation of the problems which weaken certain federations.

In Paris, Augustin Kabuya went to Brussels City Hall with Benedicta Lasi, Secretary General of the Socialist International, to meet Philippe Close, 1st Vice-President of the Belgian Socialist Party and Mayor of Brussels. This meeting made it possible to discuss the situation of relations between the Udps and the Belgian Socialist Party as well as the activities of President Félix – Antoine Tshisekedi.

The SG also visited Alexandre Ngyekama, federal president hospitalized at the Gonesse Hospital Center, to show his support. He met with the DRC Ambassador to Belgium to discuss the passport shortage situation, communication with other embassies and the May 20 opposition march.

Finally, the big day of May 25, 2023 was marked by a meeting between the Udps community of Belgium and the Secretary General in the Nh Brussels Carrefour room.

These exchanges allowed the SG to provide advice on the conduct of politics and to discuss the situation of relations between the Udps and other parties in the context of current Congolese politics.
