“Arrest of members of the FPIC armed group in Ituri, the fight against insecurity continues in the DRC”

In Ituri province, security forces arrested seven suspected members of the armed group Force Patriotique et Integrationniste du Congo (FPIC). The area is indeed confronted with many activities of armed groups who engage in numerous crimes, including human rights violations. Colonel Maxime Pommbwa Tshishimbi, deputy administrator of the Mambasa territory, indicated that these militiamen would all be linked to the FPIC and that another collaborator of the group had been neutralized last week in the same area.

In order to put an end to the acts of violence, the armed forces have launched new military operations against the terrorists of the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF). These assailants are located in Mabududu. Despite these measures, the territory of Mambasa continues to face bellicose activities from the armed groups that roam the area.

These events are a reminder of the multiple challenges that the Democratic Republic of Congo must meet to protect its population. Insecurity and armed violence still affect populations as well as the country’s economic development
