Félix Tshisekedi encourages better budgeting of multi-year public investments to accelerate the development of the DRC in 2024

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, during the hundredth meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday June 2, encouraged the government to improve the budgeting of multi-annual public investments for the year 2024. With this in mind, he asked the sectoral ministers of public works, infrastructure, energy and water resources and electricity to work together with the provincial executives to promote harmonization and complementarity between Public Investment Projects throughout the national territory .

The Head of State particularly drew attention to the energy and infrastructure sectors which he considers to be structuring. According to him, these projects will help to reduce the gap in terms of population growth and the significant increase in the energy needs of industries.

These investments will also allow for better geographical integration of the country thanks to road and rail infrastructure.
