The works for the holding of the IXth Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa are progressing rapidly. This was expressed by the Director of the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie (CIJF), Zeina Mina, during her inspection visit to the stadium sites of Martyrs and Tata Raphaël, on Saturday June 03, 2023. With the Congolese Minister of Infrastructure, Alexis Gisaro, they noted the progress of the works at 80% completion.
Zeina Mina expressed her satisfaction and said that “the country has seen big, maybe that’s why we were a little behind. This is beyond the requirements of the OIF. On the table tennis side, judo, it’s really very high quality and it’s up to the greatness of the DRC”. She praised the innovation that this represented for the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie, stressing that the quality of the work had exceeded the standards of the OIF.
It should be noted that the work is progressing well and no shortcomings have been noted by Alexis Gisaro. The bleachers are already in place, the natural grass is in good condition and the buildings are almost finished. The work for the synthetic turf is currently in progress.
Despite the postponement of the games due to the pandemic, the DRC ensures its commitment and relies on innovation to offer a quality and unforgettable event. This denotes a real ambition to highlight the positive image of the DRC internationally.
In short, the IXth Games of La Francophonie will indeed take place in Kinshasa and the work is very advanced for a beautiful and great sports festival.
