The DRC is still holding out despite the difficulties. The government of Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, held on June 2, 2023, its 100th meeting of the Council of Ministers led by Head of State Félix Tshisekedi. However, despite the constancy in the functioning of the institutions, the security issues in the east of the country remain worrying.
The Committee held a face-to-face meeting and saw the participation of the Head of Government Sama Lukonde who underlined the importance of this 100th meeting of his government and the singularity of the constancy, availability and leadership of the President of the Republic , Head of State in the conduct of meetings. Sama Lukonde also praised the political stability of the country despite the war situation experienced by the eastern nations of the DRC.
The Sama Lukonde Kyenge government is the fruit of the new “Sacred Union of the Nation” led by Felix Tshisekedi. This coalition was set up after the merger with Joseph Kabila Kabange’s Common Front for Congo (FCC).
Since its inauguration in April 2021, the government has undergone a technical reorganization with the entry of several personalities from the Congolese political scene. Indeed, Vital Kamerhe became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy and Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense and Veterans.
Despite the current difficulties, the DRC continues to forge its future and move forward to achieve its objectives
