The security situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is causing growing concern. The Front Commun pour le Congo, the main opposition party led by former President Joseph Kabila, has sharply criticized the Congolese government’s security policy. In a statement, he accused the power in place of being incapable of preserving the integrity of the territory and guaranteeing the safety of people and their property in several provinces of the country, both in the east and in the east. west.
In the east of the country, the presence of the regional force of the member countries of the East African Community is singled out by the FCC for having been abandoned by the regime in place. Several provinces are affected by insecurity, notably Ituri, North and South Kivu, North Katanga, Maniema and Bas-Uélé. As for the west, the inter-ethnic conflict between the Teke-Yaka communities also raises concerns.
The FCC also denounced the instrumentalization of the judiciary and the mismanagement of the country characterized, according to him, by tribalism, the ostentatious embezzlement of public funds, corruption, embezzlement and illicit enrichment.
This situation worries many Congolese who expect concrete actions from the authorities to restore security and stability in the country. The citizens’ movements have also called for the suspension of the draft law on the distribution of seats in order to guarantee a transparent electoral process.
Despite these concerns, initiatives such as the Young Congolese Entrepreneurs Fair offer unique opportunities for the development of entrepreneurship in the DRC, proving the existence of an economic dynamism just waiting to be encouraged.
Ultimately, the security situation in the DRC is very worrying and requires urgent action to restore security and stability in the country.
