The evolution of the Local Development Program in the Democratic Republic of Congo raises major concerns within the General Inspectorate of Finance. This initiative, launched by President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, aims to promote the development of the country from decentralized territorial entities.
In order to better understand the progress of the work, an IGF delegation visited several territories and villages in the province of Kasai Oriental. For more than a day, this delegation was able to closely observe the realities on the ground and assess the progress made.
Unfortunately, the findings in some territories are disappointing. In the territory of Tshilenge, for example, the administrative building under construction was destroyed by the local population due to the use of fired bricks instead of cement bricks. This kind of situation highlights the challenges faced by development projects and raises questions about the quality of the materials used.
Despite these obstacles, Victor Batubenga, Deputy Head of the IGF, remains optimistic about the end of the works and their impact on the country’s development. He also underlines the importance for the managers of the territories to be in good working conditions, in accordance with the vision of President Tshisekedi.
To ensure effective inspection, the IGF has engineer inspectors equipped with instruments to check the quality of the works under construction. This ensures that the necessary standards are met and that resources are used optimally.
Despite the constraints and the high prices of building materials, work is progressing in some places, such as Katanda territory. Local officials welcome President Tshisekedi’s initiative to provide good education and health conditions for children.
This detailed evaluation of the work of the Local Development Program will make it possible to identify shortcomings, make suggestions for improvement and take the necessary measures to ensure the success of the project. Territorial development is essential for the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the IGF is committed to playing an active role in this endeavor.
In conclusion, the evolution of the Local Development Program in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a major challenge for the country. Despite the difficulties encountered, the IGF remains optimistic about the completion of the work and the positive impact on development. Rigorous inspection and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the quality of the works and the efficient use of resources
