Brazzaville denies any involvement in the destabilization of Kinshasa
In an official statement, the Government of Congo-Brazzaville firmly denied its possible participation in the destabilization of the power in place in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The government spokesman, Thierry Moungala, wanted to reframe the rumors circulating and to restore the truth about relations between the two countries.
“We support the search for peaceful solutions to political and diplomatic conflicts. President Denis Sassou Nguesso is a born mediator,” said Thierry Moungala during a press conference. He also pointed out that the cession of some Congolese lands to neighboring countries, including Rwanda, was motivated by the desire to achieve food self-sufficiency and promote agricultural development.
The Minister of Communication invited the media on both banks of the Congo River to show professionalism in their treatment of information. It is essential not to give in to manipulation and fake news which can contribute to creating unnecessary tensions between the countries of the region.
This declaration comes following a meeting between the Congolese Prime Minister, Jean Michel Sama Lukonde, and his counterpart of Congo-Brazzaville, Anatole-Collinet Makoso. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
It is important to underline that stability and peace in the Great Lakes region are essential to promote economic and social development. Any attempt at destabilization must be firmly condemned and peaceful solutions must be favored to resolve political differences.
Relations between Congo-Brazzaville and the Democratic Republic of Congo are essential to ensure the stability of the region. It is therefore crucial that the two countries continue to strengthen their cooperation and work together to build a better future for their peoples.
In conclusion, Congo-Brazzaville has clearly denied any involvement in the destabilization of Kinshasa. It is essential to favor dialogue and cooperation between neighboring countries to ensure stability and promote the development of the Great Lakes region.
