Historic agreement between the CNSS and the ONT for the late payment of contributions: A ray of hope for Congolese retirees

Title: Agreement signed between the CNSS and the ONT for the late payment of contributions: a step forward for Congolese retirees

Introduction :
A memorandum of understanding relating to the late payment of contributions has been signed between the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the National Tourist Office (ONT) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This agreement provides for payment in five monthly instalments to enable the ONT to regularize its situation with the CNSS. This initiative aims to support ONT retirees who have been waiting for years to receive their rights and pensions. This agreement marks a significant step forward for Congolese pensioners.

An agreement to deal with cash flow difficulties:
Following an account mission carried out by the CNSS within the ONT, it was found that the latter was liable to the CNSS for contributions. Aware of the ONT’s cash flow difficulties, the two parties have decided to put in place a memorandum of understanding to resolve this situation. A lump sum of 160 million Congolese francs has been set as part of this agreement, in order to allow the payment of ONT retirees.

Unprecedented support for ONT retirees:
The National Tourist Office explained that this agreement marks a major step forward, because since its creation in 1986, the ONT had never supported its retirees. Thanks to this memorandum of understanding, ONT retirees will finally be able to enjoy their rights and pensions, after years of waiting. The director general of the ONT, Jolie Yombo Mukendi, stressed that it is thanks to the collaboration with the CNSS and the leadership of its director that this signature was possible.

Regular monitoring of the agreement:
The memorandum of understanding signed between the CNSS and the ONT will be evaluated every three months to ensure its proper implementation. In the event of a dispute, both parties have undertaken to seek an amicable resolution before the competent courts. It is essential to guarantee that this agreement is respected and that ONT pensioners can fully benefit from their rights.

Conclusion :
The agreement signed between the CNSS and the ONT for the late payment of contributions is an important step that will finally allow the care of ONT retirees. This initiative testifies to the commitment of the Congolese authorities to guarantee the rights of workers and to ensure their well-being after their retirement. It is essential to continue to support such actions that contribute to the social and economic well-being of the Congolese population
