Fire in Ngaliema: the consequences and the importance of security in the DRC!

On June 2, 2023, a fire broke out in a small shopping center located in the commune of Ngaliema, not far from the Sakombi roundabout in Kinshasa. The flames engulfed more than five houses and a significant amount of goods, without causing any casualties.

According to testimony, the fire was caused by a donut seller who allegedly mishandled the fire, near a gasoline store.

The rapid intervention of the fire services, in particular that of the town hall of Kinshasa, made it possible to bring the fire under control, thus avoiding greater human and material losses.

This tragic event reminds us of the importance of caution in handling heat sources, as well as the need to maintain adequate safety measures to limit the risk of fire.
