New management team at the head of the RVA to modernize the Congolese airspace

The new Board of Directors of the Régie des Voies Aériennes (RVA) was officially put in place during a handover and takeover ceremony which took place yesterday. This transition follows presidential orders announced last month, which appointed new leaders in some public companies. Some members have been reappointed, while others are joining.

Alphonse Shungu Mahungu, who already held the position of General Manager, remains at the head of the RVA. He will now be assisted by Mayaya Kawaasa, who holds the position of Deputy Managing Director. In addition, Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba replaces Bienvenu Liyota Ndjoli as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Bienvenu Liyota, who held the position of outgoing PCA, expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic and the entire staff of the RVA for their trust and collaboration during his tenure. He highlighted the achievements made under his leadership, including the modernization of airport infrastructure and air navigation equipment in several Congolese cities. He also praised the ability of the technical team to maintain operations despite the challenges encountered.

In his speech, Tryphon Kin-Kiey Mulumba, the new PCA, assured that the management team will work in the interest of the company and its staff. He also promised to maintain good relations with the CEO and the rest of the Board. He concluded by wishing the new team every success and good luck.

The change of management of the RVA marks a new stage in the management of this regulatory company of Congolese airspace. The new leaders will be responsible for continuing modernization projects and ensuring the smooth running of air operations in the country
