“The 2023 Francophonie Games in Kinshasa: reinforced security measures and fluid traffic to guarantee an exceptional experience!”

The 2023 Francophonie Games are fast approaching and the city of Kinshasa is in full swing to host this major sporting event. In a recent statement, the provincial commissioner of police, Blaise Kilimbalimba, urged motorcyclists to behave responsibly in order to avoid “unnecessary” traffic jams in the Congolese capital.

Safety and the smooth flow of road traffic are essential elements to facilitate traffic during the games. In order to minimize traffic jams, the authorities have started to clear the nerve centers of the boulevards, in particular those leading to the various competition sites. This initiative aims to make traffic flow more smoothly and ensure a better experience for participants and spectators.

In the same vein, the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya, announced that access to the opening ceremony of the games, which will take place on July 28, will be free for all. All you have to do is show up decently wearing the national colors to be able to attend this exceptional event.

Security is also a major concern for the authorities. Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister Peter Kazadi stressed that important measures have been taken to ensure the safety of Congolese and foreign participants. A significant deployment of soldiers from the Republican Guard and police will be made throughout the competitions.

Speaking, the National Director of the games of La Francophonie, Isidore Kwandja, urged the Congolese to show patriotism by denouncing any suspicious or abnormal behavior, in order to guarantee the smooth running of the games without any incident.

This 9th edition of the Francophonie Games promises to be exceptional and the city of Kinshasa is actively preparing to offer a memorable experience to all participants and spectators. The measures taken to smooth traffic and ensure security are promising signs and demonstrate the commitment of the Congolese authorities to organize a large-scale event.

All that remains is to look forward to the start of the 2023 Francophonie Games in Kinshasa and to support the athletes who will come to represent their countries in this international competition
