“Launch of social dialogue for the appropriation of the Industrialization Master Plan in the DRC”

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, announced the launch of the first stage of social dialogue on the appropriation of the Industrialization Master Plan of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This first step took place in the Commune of Kisenso, where officials of different religious denominations and personalities of this municipality attended.

The industrialization process is based on two major instruments: the Industrial Policy and Strategy Document and the Industrialization Master Plan – PDI. The government has implemented the Special Economic Zones development policy to diversify the Congolese economy and create wealth and jobs. The pilot municipality of Maluku has been appointed to lead this policy.

Even if the Minister of Industry did not address the complaints of the population on the return of Bourgmestre Godet ATSWEL-OKEL MUNTUNGI, he promised to report to the government. Also, the social dialogue will continue through other communes of the capital Kinshasa.

In summary, the launch of social dialogue on the appropriation of the Industrialization Master Plan of the Democratic Republic of Congo is an important step for the diversification of the Congolese economy. This process should allow the creation of wealth and jobs for the population
