President Félix Tshisekedi begins an official visit to China on Wednesday, with a view to reviving cooperation between the two countries. This visit is seen as a sign of revitalizing Sino-Congolese relations.
Indeed, the two countries wish to collaborate to launch joint projects, particularly in the value chain of natural resources, in order to balance their trade balance. China has always shown itself to be favorable to the DRC, notably by supporting it on the international scene, thanks to its influence within the United Nations Security Council.
The Congolese president and his delegation will also use this trip to strengthen ties with the Congolese army, the FARDC, as well as to discuss future investments and infrastructure projects.
This visit comes at a crucial time for relations between the DRC and China, and could determine the future of their cooperation. The two countries have everything to gain from strengthening their relations and finding solutions to face the current challenges that await them. The results of this State visit will therefore be closely monitored in the days to come.
