The Francophone Games: a major sporting event in Kinshasa
The Games of La Francophonie are about to begin in Kinshasa, the Congolese capital. From July 28 to August 6, athletes from the various member countries of La Francophonie will meet to compete in various sports. This event represents a unique opportunity to promote sport and strengthen ties between French-speaking countries.
Willy Kalengayi, journalist and editor of the magazine “Géopolis”, expressed his wish during a recent radio broadcast. According to him, it is important that these Games take place in the best possible conditions, in order to consolidate the image of a victorious people capable of taking up challenges. He also commended the Congolese authorities for maintaining the organization of this event despite the constraints and challenges.
The sites chosen to host the competitions are the Stade des Martyrs, the Tata Raphael stadium and the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN). Athletes already present are actively training on these different sites, preparing to proudly represent their country during the events.
The National Committee of the Francophone Games, led by Isidore Kwandja, ensures that everything is ready for the smooth running of the competition. All necessary measures have been taken to guarantee the safety and comfort of athletes and spectators.
This major sporting event will also highlight the richness and cultural diversity of French-speaking countries. In parallel with the sports competitions, cultural and artistic events will take place, thus offering a real experience of exchange and sharing between the participants.
