The article above highlights the news concerning the presence of Ugandan rebels of the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF) in the Babila-Bakwanza chiefdom in the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the coordination of the new Congolese civil society (NSCC), these rebels are in free movement in the region, causing material damage and human loss.
During their passage, the ADF terrorists set fire to several houses in the localities of Babulujo and Mabuluku, located on the national road number 4 between Mambasa and Komanda. This worrying situation arouses the call of the NSCC citizen structure for a massive deployment of soldiers in order to stop the movement of rebels in the area.
NSCC Coordinator Master John Vuleveryo stresses the importance of military operations to end the ADF presence in the region. According to him, without effective action, the rebels are unlikely to withdraw on their own. He also recalls previous ADF attacks in the localities of Apesiko and Elake North, where several civilians were massacred despite warnings from the population.
