Title: The ninth Francophone Games in Kinshasa: a question of water and electricity resolved
Introduction :
The ninth games of the Francophonie are fast approaching and Kinshasa is preparing to host this event of international scope. Among the main concerns of the organizers, the question of water and electricity was at the forefront. However, thanks to the efforts of the national electricity company (SNEL) and the water distribution company (Regideso), the situation was resolved. In this article, we will introduce you to the measures taken to guarantee an optimal supply of water and electricity during the games.
Reinforcement of devices:
SNEL and Regideso have worked together to strengthen their system in anticipation of the games. First of all, SNEL has installed a generator that will take over in the event of a power cut. Thus, even in the event of a problem on the electrical network, competitions and activities can take place without interruption.
For its part, Regideso has increased the number of water tanks available, by adding two additional boreholes. This will ensure there is enough stock to supply the athletes with water, even if it is not dripping from the taps. These measures therefore guarantee a reliable and constant supply of water and electricity throughout the games.
A general visit of the infrastructures:
In order to ensure the proper preparation of the infrastructures, a general visit was organised. The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Francophonie, accompanied by several personalities and the group of French-speaking ambassadors, visited the various sites that will host the games.
The visit revealed that the sports infrastructure development work is almost complete. The Tata Raphaël and Martyrs stadiums, which will host the competitions, are 100% ready. Exterior fittings are still to be planned, but on the whole, the infrastructures are functional and equipped.
Financial preparation and security:
In addition to the infrastructure works, the financial preparation for the games was also managed. According to the director of the national committee of games of the Francophonie, everything is settled on that side. This guarantees that the event can take place in the best conditions, without financial worries.
In terms of security, although the security situation in the east of the country remains worrying, measures are being taken to ensure the safety of participants and visitors during the games. Kinshasa’s new police commander, Blaise Mbula Limba, has pledged to fight the kulunas and ensure a safe city.
Conclusion :
The ninth Francophone Games in Kinshasa are being actively prepared and the organizers have taken the necessary measures to resolve the issue of water and electricity. Thanks to the efforts of SNEL and Regideso, the supply of water and electricity will be ensured during the event. In addition, the infrastructure is almost ready and the financial preparations are completed. All you have to do is wait for the start of the games and enjoy this international sporting and cultural event.
