In a joint operation led by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and the Ugandan Army (UPDF), 16 terrorists from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) group were neutralized in the Mwalika Valley, in Beni territory, North Kivu. The operation to neutralize the terrorists took place from June 20 to July 29, 2023, after their incursion into Mpondwe, a locality located in Uganda.
