“IGF and ANEP: An alliance for sound financial management and the fight against embezzlement of public funds in the DRC”

Title: Fight against embezzlement of public funds: IGF and ANEP join forces to promote good management

Introduction :
In the continuity of their efforts to fight against embezzlement of public funds in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) and the National Association of Public Establishments and Portfolio Companies (ANEP) recently held an exchange meeting. This meeting made it possible to sensitize the heads of public enterprises to the need to promote transparent and responsible management of finances and public goods. In this article, we will explore the objectives of this collaboration as well as the actions undertaken to encourage good governance in the public sector.

Strengthen the prevention of embezzlement:
During this meeting, the Inspector General of Finance-Brigade Chief, Gabriel Kabanangi, underlined the importance of the a priori and concomitant control of the IGF in the companies of the Portfolio and the public establishments. This approach aims to prevent bad practices and deter acts of financial embezzlement. By emphasizing the regularity of management acts, the follow-up of previous recommendations and advice to public managers, the IGF seeks to establish a culture of transparency and accountability.

Accompaniment rather than repression:
It is important to emphasize that the IGF does not seek to trap managers, but rather to support them in a process of good governance. Department head Jules Alingete said the sensitization session was aimed at helping officials avoid scandals and wrongdoing. It is a pedagogical approach aimed at strengthening the skills of public management actors and promoting exemplary practices.

Promote good governance:
Since his appointment as head of the IGF, Jules Alingete Key has placed the awareness of managers and social actors at the heart of his strategy to reduce corruption and embezzlement of public funds. By encouraging the implementation of principles of good governance, the IGF aims to improve the quality of financial management of public enterprises, reduce the risk of fraud and waste of resources, and promote the sustainable development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Conclusion :
The fight against embezzlement of public funds is a priority for IGF and ANEP in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By joining forces, these two institutions aim to promote the sound management of public finances and property. Through awareness-raising actions and personalized support for managers, they hope to establish a culture of transparency and accountability within public companies.. This long-term work will help build a better future for the country and promote its economic and social development
