Candidatures for the Kindu election in July 2023 arouse enthusiasm

Political news in Kindu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is marked by the excitement of candidates for the local election. Indeed, the Office of Processing and Receiving Applications (BRTC) has registered no less than 54 applications to date. It was a real craze that was observed when applications closed on Saturday July 15, 2023.

During this crucial day, the streets of Kindu resounded to the rhythm of brass bands accompanying certain candidates. One of them particularly attracted attention: the current interim governor of Maniema, Afani Idrissa Mangala, who is seeking a new mandate under the colors of the Udps. His candidacy was welcomed by an impressive crowd, testifying to the anchoring of this political party in the Maniema region.

At a press conference, Afani Idrissa Mangala said he was confident and honored by the support of the population. According to him, this shows that the Udps Tshisekedi is firmly rooted in the province of Maniema. This crowd also testifies to the importance given to this local election by the inhabitants of Kindu.

It should be noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (Ceni) has decided to extend the process of receiving and processing applications for national deputy by 7 days. Thus, candidates will have until July 23 to submit their applications.

This extension will allow more candidates to run and participate in the electoral process. It also demonstrates the Ceni’s desire to guarantee a transparent and fair election, by offering candidates sufficient time to complete the necessary formalities.

Kindu’s election in July 2023 therefore promises to be a key moment for Congolese democracy. The many candidates from different political parties testify to the commitment of local political actors and the growing interest of citizens in their participation in the political life of their region.

It is therefore with impatience that the population of Kindu will await the results of this election, which will determine the governance of the region for the coming years. In the meantime, the candidates will continue their electoral campaign, hoping to convince voters and make a difference in the upcoming election
