The educational provinces of Kinshasa-Plateau and Kinshasa-Tshangu, which are to the east of the Congolese capital, are currently qualified as seats of anti-values. This declaration was made by the Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, Tony Muaba Kazadi, during a meeting with the Heads of establishments of Kinshasa-Mont/Amba.
During this meeting, which was held at the Mokengeli School Complex in Kinshasa-Lemba, the Minister pointed out the anti-values that persist in these provinces. He stressed that the officials in charge of these areas must take measures to correct this worrying situation.
Minister Tony Muaba Kazadi made it clear that his statement was based on real facts and that he was not trying to flatter anyone. He urged officials to act transparently and be diligent in their mission.
The anti-values mentioned by the Minister are multiple. They include non-compliance with official instructions, the collection of illicit fees, the increase in fees for certification tests, the consideration of students as customers, the misuse of funds allocated to the school administration, as well as the complicity between heads of establishments and inspectors.
The Minister underlined that School Heads play a key role in the fight against anti-values and that it is essential to strengthen ethics and morality in the education sector.
It should be noted that these educational provinces, formerly attached to Kinshasa-East, include the communes of Ndjili, Masina, Kimbanseke for Kinshasa-Tshangu, as well as Nsele, Maluku for Kinshasa-Plateau.
This meeting with Heads of establishments is part of a series of meetings organized by the Minister with the aim of moralizing and strengthening moral values within the education system. These initiatives aim to prepare for a well-prepared 2023-2024 school year.
