Recognition of Jean-Marc Kabund’s “Alliance for Change” (A.Ch) party by the Ministry of the Interior
In a recent announcement, the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior confirmed the regular registration of the Alliance for Change (A.Ch) party of the former first vice-president of the National Assembly, Jean-Marc Kabund. This recognition comes to put an end to the controversy surrounding the omission of this party on the list of recognized parties in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Following an interaction with the Ministry of the Interior, the A.Ch spokesperson said that the general secretariat has undertaken to correct this “material error”. It was reported that the head of administration of the ministry confirmed that the party had carried out all the necessary procedures as early as June 2022 and that the general secretariat did indeed have an acknowledgment of receipt of the file.
However, difficulties arose at the level of the minister’s office, preventing the issuance of the official decree. Despite this, the Ministry of the Interior is committed to solving this problem as soon as possible.
This recognition is an important step for the Alliance for Change and its leader, Jean-Marc Kabund. It will allow the party to participate fully in the Congolese political scene and to express its ideas and projects for the country.
It is essential to stress the importance of the recognition of political parties in a democracy. This guarantees fair representation and respect for the rights of citizens to choose their leaders and to express their political opinion.
This situation also highlights the importance of an efficient and transparent public administration. Administrative errors can have significant consequences for the democratic functioning of a country. It is therefore essential that government departments and institutions work diligently to rectify these errors and ensure a fair and equitable electoral process.
In conclusion, the recognition of the Alliance for Change party by the Ministry of the Interior is a positive step forward for democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It offers an opportunity for Congolese citizens to make their voices heard through this new political party. We hope that this recognition marks the beginning of a period of cooperation and constructive dialogue between the various political actors in the country.
