France supports the implementation of the Luanda and Nairobi agreements in the DRC: a strong commitment to the country’s stability and security.

The implementation of the Luanda and Nairobi agreements is an absolute priority for the French Republic, according to Ambassador Bruno AUBERT during his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Bemba in Kinshasa on July 10, 2023.

During this meeting, the two parties discussed military and defense cooperation between France and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Mr. AUBERT underlined the importance of strengthening the capacities of the DRC in the exercise of its sovereignty. He also commended the regional diplomatic efforts aimed at making the process of pre-cantonment and cantonment of armed groups more effective.

As an observer, France will take part in the Goma meeting, which aims to speed up the implementation of the Luanda agreements. Mr. AUBERT expressed his support for these regional diplomatic initiatives and underlined the importance of closely monitoring ongoing developments.
