Public sector students subscribed to the “Trans Academia” transport company in the Democratic Republic of Congo complain about the lack of punctuality and the poor quality of service offered by this company.
According to students from the Mbudi-Ifasic, Mikondo-Ifasic, Matete-Isp and Pascal-Isp lines, Trans Academia buses are systematically late, which leads to delays in classes. Some students say they wait almost an hour for the bus to arrive at their stop, which affects their punctuality and their academic success.
This situation is particularly worrying for students who live far from their educational institution and who depend on public transport to get to their classes.
The students ask Trans Academia to improve the punctuality of its buses by increasing the number of vehicles on these lines. They also ask for better communication with users in order to inform them in real time of any delays. In addition, the students want the company to take into account the increase in the number of subscribers on these lines and adapt its services accordingly.
It is essential that the competent authorities take into consideration the legitimate concerns of students and work in collaboration with Trans Academia to improve the quality of the transport service offered.
Public transit is a crucial element in ensuring students’ accessibility to education and fostering their academic success. It is therefore essential to find solutions to solve the problems of punctuality and quality of the public transport service.
Students are the future of the country and their education should not be compromised by transportation issues. It is therefore time to act and respond to the concerns of these students in order to guarantee their right to a quality education
