“Faith Word In action: Annual review and strategic planning for the empowerment of women in the DRC”

Faith Word In action, a grassroots organization specializing in the development and empowerment of young women and girls, recently held a workshop in Kinshasa for its annual review. This event, which took place from July 4 to 5, aimed to assess the progress made in the implementation of the organization’s activities and plan future actions for the year 2023.

The Executive Secretary of Faith Word In action, Anifa Kalombola, underlined the importance of this workshop to take stock of the achievements and the challenges encountered during the past year. She also highlighted the need to assess the relevance of the results obtained and to identify the new challenges to be met.

The workshop allowed the various members of Faith Word In action and its partners, such as Oxfam, FEMNET and the European Union, to share their experiences and discuss the projects they have been involved in outside of the main STITCH project. . This collaborative approach favored exchanges and mutual aid between the participants, thus strengthening the work dynamic of Faith Word In action.

For almost four years, Faith Word In action has been present in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and works closely with other local organizations such as CONAFED. Together, they were chosen from 14 Congolese FEMNET members to implement the STITCH project in seven African countries.

This annual review highlights the commitment and effectiveness of Faith Word In action in its work for the development and empowerment of women and girls in the DRC. By enabling in-depth evaluation of activities and strategic planning, this workshop helps to strengthen the positive impact of the organization and to prepare new initiatives for the coming year.
