Road rehabilitation projects in Kinshasa: a step towards improving infrastructure
In his desire to realize President Félix Tshisekedi’s vision to improve the living conditions of the Congolese population, the Minister of Infrastructure of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Alexis Gisaro, recently carried out a field visit to assess the state progress report on road rehabilitation works in Kinshasa.
During his tour, the Minister visited several construction sites in progress in the communes of Lemba, Limete, Kisenso and N’sele. The aim was to get to know the progress of the work and kick off new projects.
In the commune of Lemba, complete rehabilitation works have been undertaken on Sefu Avenue, over a distance of 2.3 kilometers from the first gate of the Fikin to the Mokengeli school. Similarly, Botango Avenue in the commercial district of Lemba is undergoing construction and sanitation works, which brings joy to the inhabitants of the region.
In Limete, the 14th street which connects the boulevard Lumumba to the road of the Heavyweights, was recently rehabilitated, thus offering better practicability to the users of the road.
In the Bikanga district in Kisenso, the avenue de la Paix has benefited from a quality modernization, allowing the population to circulate in peace and to enhance this part of Kinshasa.
Minister Gisaro also kicked off the works of the B.A.T road in N’sele, with the aim of an inauguration scheduled for the next six months. He encouraged the population of N’sele to remain vigilant and to report any possible problems, stressing that his cabinet was open to all.
The visit of the Minister of Infrastructure demonstrates the Congolese government’s commitment to improving transport infrastructure in the capital. These road rehabilitation works help to facilitate the movement of people and goods, thus promoting the economic development of the region.
