The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to face serious human rights violations, according to a recent United Nations report. The figures indicate a 16% increase in violations from the previous month, with 418 cases documented across the country. The right to life is the most affected, with 313 victims, including 276 extrajudicial executions. Armed groups are responsible for 64% of these violations, but state agents also account for 36% of cases. Conflict-affected provinces are of particular concern, with 75% of violations perpetrated by armed groups. Despite efforts to fight impunity, violations persist and endanger the lives and dignity of Congolese. It is therefore essential to take additional measures to protect the fundamental rights of all citizens and to end the impunity of the perpetrators of these crimes. The international community must continue to monitor the situation closely and support initiatives aimed at ending these violations.
