In this article, we examine the importance of external auditing of the electoral register in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in ensuring the credibility of elections. Martin Fayulu, leader of the ECIDE party, refuses to submit his party’s candidacies as long as this audit has not been carried out. The audit would ensure the authenticity of the data and build the confidence of all stakeholders. The refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) to submit to the audit raises doubts about the transparency of the process. The opposition also expresses concerns and calls for this audit to ensure credible and transparent elections reflecting the will of the Congolese people.
