In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the areas of Djugu and Mahagi are seriously affected by armed violence perpetrated by militiamen, having caused the death of 530 people in 6 months. The inhabitants are in danger and are demanding concrete action from the authorities. MONUSCO is providing support, but residents are waiting for priority measures to regain their safety. In addition to the issue of security, the DRC also faces other challenges such as the protection of workers’ rights, the establishment of a stable economy. It is imperative that all the parties involved mobilize to find lasting solutions, combat this spiral of violence and restore hope to the affected populations.
