President Félix Tshisekedi expresses his disappointment with the record of Congolese justice and announces upcoming reforms in collaboration with the Superior Council of the Judiciary. He claims to respect the independence of justice and is committed to greater transparency in judicial decisions. However, concrete actions are needed to fundamentally reform the judicial system and guarantee equality before the law for all Congolese citizens. Citizens’ confidence must be restored by promoting professional ethics and combating corruption in the judicial sector. Although progress has been made, there is still a long way to go for independent justice accessible to all.
