Despite the stated ambitions of President Félix Tshisekedi to reform the judicial system and promote the rule of law in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), it is clear that challenges persist. Justice is criticized for its lack of efficiency and the President is accused of instrumentalizing justice for political ends. Reforms are needed, but the independence of the judiciary is essential to guarantee real reform. It is crucial to put in place concrete measures to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and ensure a more efficient functioning of the judicial system in the DRC.
