The state of siege in Ituri, established two years ago to fight against armed groups, has not yielded concrete results according to civil society. Despite a temporary lull, the security situation remains worrying. To consolidate this lull, civil society calls for the establishment of the Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery and Stabilization Program (PDDRCS), to support the militiamen in their social reintegration. A comprehensive approach is needed to disarm armed groups and ensure long-term stability. The search for lasting solutions must continue despite the challenges encountered.
