The mining company Kibali, based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is committed to the energy transition by investing in hydroelectric and solar power plants. These initiatives have made it possible to increase the share of renewable energies in the company’s energy mix, from 70% to 79%. Kibali is also preparing to build a solar power plant to further diversify its energy supply. This transition to clean energy is an example for other mining companies to follow and contributes to the economic and social development of the DRC.
