The High Council for Audiovisual and Communication (CSAC) has revised the sanctions against the television channel CML13TV, its main host and its guests. The channel’s suspension was reduced from 45 to 30 days, while the lead host’s sanction was increased to 90 days. In addition, two deputies received a 90-day embargo on Kinshasa media. This decision sparked debates on the limits of freedom of expression and the protection of civic values. The CSAC urges the media and citizens to respect the fundamental principles and all the rules of the profession to guarantee the safety of individuals against any speech inciting hatred and violence.
