The Congolese genocide: a tragedy that must not be forgotten
August 2, 2023 will mark Genocost, a commemoration event dedicated to raising awareness about the Congolese Genocide and its profound impact in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Organized by the association CAYP, this event aims to remember the devastating consequences suffered by the Congolese people and to encourage action for a better future.
Under the theme “The Cost of Genocide”, Genocost will highlight the economic losses, shattered lives and lingering trauma imposed on the Congolese people. It will be streamed online throughout the day, allowing participants from around the world to join in this day of reflection, education and solidarity.
The event will also be marked by physical rallies in Paris, Goma and Kinshasa. In Paris, the rally will take place at 10, rue des terres au curé, providing an opportunity for participants to come together, commemorate the victims and support the survivors.
