A desire to accelerate regional integration:
In his opening address, Dr. Alfred Mutua, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, called on African Union Member States to accelerate integration and leverage their comparative advantages to promote free trade and unlocking Africa’s collective socio-economic potential. He stressed the importance of consolidating Africa’s voice on climate change and ensuring a fair share of global trade and investment.

Coordination for increased integration:
The biannual coordination meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union will assess the state of African integration, coordinate the division of labor and harmonize policies in order to accelerate the integration of the continent. The Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment of the African Union, Mrs. Josefa Sacko, underlined the importance of this meeting in achieving the ambitious objectives of the Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

Mobilization of all Member States:
Delegates from all Member States are present to share their views and work together to achieve the objectives of the African Union. This crucial meeting brings together important personalities in an atmosphere conducive to serious discussions on the future of the continent.
