In a recent presentation, Patrick Muyaya, national deputy and Minister of Communication and Media in the Democratic Republic of Congo, took stock of his results as an elected official from Kinshasa (Funa) in the 2018 legislative elections.

Among his achievements, Patrick Muyaya highlights his contribution to raising public awareness to fight Covid-19, as well as his support for G13 parliamentary initiatives. He also welcomes having participated in the co-drafting of the electoral law, known as the “Lokondo law”, and having contributed to the modification of the Labor Code to protect pregnant women.

But that’s not all. The Minister of Communication and Media also called for improving the image of the Democratic Republic of Congo at the global level, thanks to strategic institutional communication actions. It highlights the modernization of RTNC (Radio-Télévision nationale congolaise) in high definition, as well as other achievements.

Convinced of his positive results, Patrick Muyaya is seeking a new mandate for the 2023-2028 legislature, while calling for support for the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, for a second term. He also invites his base to mobilize at the start of the electoral campaign, planned at the Martyrs stadium.

This report highlights the work carried out by Patrick Muyaya as deputy for Kinshasa (Funa). Its actions in raising awareness about Covid-19, participating in the development of laws and promoting the country’s image show its commitment to improving the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is now up to the population to take these achievements into account and decide whether they wish to grant a new mandate to Patrick Muyaya and support President Tshisekedi to continue the efforts undertaken. Congolese politics is at a decisive turning point, and the future of the country rests on the choices that will be made during the next elections.
