“Resounding success for the judo and basketball test competitions of the Games of La Francophonie!”

The test competitions in judo and basketball at the IX Games of La Francophonie were a resounding success. Organized recently in the newly built gymnasiums on the site of the Martyrs stadium, these competitions made it possible to test the infrastructure and equipment purchased in anticipation of the event.

The first competition featured a hundred athletes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo and Angola in the judo event. After an intense day of competition, the winners were awarded their medals at a ceremony chaired by the Director of the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie, Zeina Mina, and the Director of the National Committee, Isidore Kwandja Ngembo.

The second competition pitted female basketball teams from Kinshasa against each other in a mini tournament. The Franco Afro team finally won against the Kinshasa selection with a score of 40 to 23.

These test competitions were of particular importance since they made it possible to put the facilities to the test and to allow the various teams of the organizing committee to refine their organization in areas such as reception, catering, security, ticketing and health.

The National Director of the Games was satisfied with these test competitions, describing the infrastructures as “high quality” and expressing his gratitude to the President of the Republic for having agreed to organize the Games of La Francophonie. He also stressed the importance of preserving this infrastructure for years to come.

These test competitions are therefore a real step forward in the preparation of the 9th Games of La Francophonie, which promise to be promising. Athletes and spectators will be able to take advantage of quality facilities to experience intense moments of sport and Francophone fraternity.
