France prioritizes the implementation of the Luanda and Nairobi agreements in the DRC to achieve peace in the east of the country.

The implementation of the Luanda roadmap and the Nairobi process in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a priority for France, says French Ambassador to the DRC, Bruno Aubert. During his recent meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of National Defence, Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo, the Ambassador stressed the importance of the implementation of these agreements to achieve peace in eastern ground floor.

France welcomes the diplomatic efforts made in recent weeks to mobilize the international community around this issue. A meeting is planned in Goma with the aim of making the pre-cantonment and cantonment process more effective and visible. France will participate in this meeting as an observer, thus affirming its support for this initiative.

This meeting between the French Ambassador and the Deputy Prime Minister was also an opportunity to discuss military and defense cooperation between the two countries. France is positioning itself alongside the DRC to support the exercise of its sovereignty. Both parties discussed the possibility of developing this cooperation in new areas.

It should be noted that France has already cooperated with the DRC within the framework of the training of the second Special Jungle Combat Battalion, provided by French and Congolese instructors. This cooperation illustrates France’s commitment to supporting the DRC in its efforts to strengthen its military capabilities.

In conclusion, France clearly affirms its priority for the implementation of the Luanda roadmap and the Nairobi process in the DRC. It supports ongoing diplomatic efforts and positions itself in favor of enhanced cooperation in the military and defense fields
