“Excellentia: the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation encourages academic excellence and the fight against sickle cell disease”

The Excellentia program of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation continues to make headlines. Recently, during a lunch organized at the Pullman Hotel in Lubumbashi, the President of the Foundation brought together nearly 180 students from different schools in the Haut Katanga province. The objective of this event was to raise awareness among students of the importance of academic excellence and to inform them about the Excellentia program.

Excellentia is an ambitious program that aims to reward academic excellence by providing scholarships to state exam winners who achieve a score of at least 85%. It plans to award 1000 local scholarships and 100 international scholarships over a period of 10 years.

During this event, the First Lady highlighted the importance of higher education and encouraged students to surpass themselves to achieve academic excellence. She also touched on another crucial topic, sickle cell disease, which is the world’s leading genetic disease. The President made the students aware of the harmful effects of this disease and encouraged them to get tested.

The Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation is also mobilizing to fight against sickle cell disease by providing screening kits in certain hospital centers in Lubumbashi. This initiative aims to raise awareness among young people and encourage them to take control of their health.

During this event, students also had the opportunity to meet scholarship recipients from the first edition of the Excellentia program, who have become inspiring examples of success. These former scholarship recipients were able to share their experience and motivate students to work hard to achieve their goals.

The Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation’s Excellentia program continues to generate enthusiasm and hope among young Congolese students. Thanks to this initiative, many talented young people will have the opportunity to continue their university studies and become the future leaders of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In conclusion, the Excellentia program of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation plays an essential role in promoting academic excellence and access to education for young Congolese. By offering scholarships to the best winners, it contributes to changing the lives of many students and supporting the development of the country.
