The Mobondo militia threatens the town of Kwamouth: emergency neutralization and security

Since last Wednesday, the village of Nshemamfum, located 25 km from the city of Kwamouth in the province of Mai-Ndombe, has been occupied by the Mobondo militia. This situation was alerted by provincial deputy Moïse Makani, who underlines that the Kwamouth-Masiambio road axis is now blocked by the militia, who have erected a barrier in Nshemamfum.

As a direct result of this occupation, the local population fled and it was impossible to evacuate agricultural products from the village to Kwamouth or Masiambio. This situation represents a great danger for Kwamouth, according to Moïse Makani, because the Mobondo militia has established its position in Nshemamfum with the aim of attacking the city. Although the military is present on site, their effectiveness remains in question.

Faced with this worrying situation, Moïse Makani calls on the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) to do everything possible to neutralize the Mobondo militia and ensure the security of the population. It is essential that concrete steps are taken to ensure stability and peace in the Kwamouth region.

It is also important to emphasize that this situation highlights the challenges facing certain regions of the DRC, in terms of security and development. It is essential to invest in the training and equipment of security forces, as well as in the economic development of conflict-affected regions, in order to prevent such situations in the future.

In conclusion, there is an urgent need to take measures to neutralize the Mobondo militia and guarantee the safety of the people of Kwamouth. The current situation highlights the challenges facing certain regions of the DRC, and it is imperative to invest in security and development to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for all.
