The resurgence of growing insecurity in Kinshasa has become a major concern for the human rights NGO, the Voice of the Voiceless (VSV). In an interview with ACTUALITE.CD, the organisation’s executive director, Rostin Manketa, urges the authorities to improve the working conditions of law enforcement and security forces in order to strengthen security in the Congolese capital.
According to Manketa, the government must provide members of the security services with the tools and equipment necessary to track down criminals. It also insists on the importance of improving the socio-professional conditions of security officers in order to prevent criminal behavior within their ranks.
